Why We Exist

In San Antonio and Bexar County, thousands of women seek support every year for domestic violence, addiction recovery, homelessness, mental health challenges, and rebuilding their lives after incarceration or crisis.

Recent reports show that more than 19,000 people in Bexar County received crisis advocacy services related to domestic violence and trauma in 2024 alone, while more than 1,000 individuals sought emergency shelter and safety services. These numbers reflect the growing need for compassionate, trauma-informed support systems for women in our community.

Some women are in the beginning stages of recovery and need basic essentials such as hygiene items, food assistance, or career-appropriate clothing. Others may need educational resources, emotional support, mentorship, social connection, or guidance as they rebuild their lives.

Whether a Woman is:

* Leaving a domestic violence situation
* Recovering from addiction
* Reentering society after incarceration
* Healing from physical trauma
* Struggling with financial hardship
* Rebuilding her life emotionally

She deserves support, compassion, and the opportunity to rebuild her life.
