Privacy and Confidentiality
DHTRS Ministries respects the privacy and dignity of every person who contacts us for support, resources, or assistance. Information shared with us will be treated with care and discretion and will not be shared with others unless we have permission to do so, disclosure is necessary to provide requested services or referrals, or disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law.

If an individual requests assistance from another organization or service provider, they may choose to allow DHTRS Ministries to share the information necessary to make that connection. For example, if someone requests help obtaining food, housing, clothing, or other community resources, relevant information may be shared with the appropriate organization with their knowledge and permission. We will make reasonable efforts to share only the information needed to help connect the individual with the requested service.

We understand that reaching out for help can be difficult. Our goal is to provide a safe and respectful environment where individuals can share their needs without fear of unnecessary disclosure or judgment.
Safety and Required Disclosures
Privacy and confidentiality have important limits. If an individual communicates a serious and immediate threat of harm to themselves or another person, DHTRS Ministries may take appropriate steps to help protect the safety of those involved. This may include contacting emergency services, law enforcement, a crisis response service, or another appropriate person or organization.

We may also disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to a valid legal process or when disclosure is necessary to address an immediate safety concern.
DHTRS Ministries will make reasonable efforts to limit any disclosure to information that is necessary under the circumstances.

By contacting DHTRS Ministries, individuals understand that privacy will be respected to the fullest extent possible, but no promise of absolute confidentiality can be made in circumstances involving immediate safety concerns, requested referrals or services, or legal requirements.
